Special Meeting/Workshop

2. Public Comments:
   Minutes: Public Comments: Diane Saley; Beth Dewey; Nancy Gerace; Barbara Momoni; Suzanne Clancy; and Loretta Arrue.
   
   
3. Reading Personnel Workshop
   Minutes: Dr. Johnson provided Board Members with a brief history of reading recovery funding.
   
   Mr. Lynch stated that Board Members should decide if the Academic Business Plan should be changed and should not be budget driven.
   
   Mr. Lynch questioned if there has been a significant change in the District's reading program from last year.
   
   Mr. Moore provided Board Members with the purpose of why these adjustments were necessary at this time.
   
   Mrs. Burdick requested clarification regarding state funding.
   
   Mrs. Burdick stated she is very uncomfortable with eliminating these positions and can not support the recommendation at this time.
   
   Dr. Robinson stressed the importance of notifying Board Members immediately when changes like these are made.
   
   Dr. Robinson requested data on children who have been through reading recovery and children who have been taught by Josephine McLaughlin teachers.
   
   Dr. Robinson requested the Board discuss the lack of reading support in alternative education schools at a later time.
